Is it done in the nude?

Most of my clients choose to be in the nude, however if you feel more comfortable in your underwear or 'draped' (covered with a sheet, only one part exposed at a time) that is fine too.

Techniques such as Esalen Massage, are traditionally done with both the client & the healer, in the nude. Many people feel more comfortable when the masseur is nude as this can make you feel less 'naked' and vulnerable on the table. Remember when we were kids, how nudity was an experience of being free - separate from sexuality. Tribal people experience this. The constant association; nudity = sex is symptomatic of a culture who hide bodies, only exposing them when sex is involved. In some places in the world the mere sight of a woman's arm, is seen as uncomfortably erotic. If you have ever been to a (family oriented) nude beach you might have experienced a uniquely 'leveling' & humbling experience - there are no costumes for anyone to hide behind!

People come in all shapes and sizes and we are humbled by our commonness. I am comfortable in the nude, and do not associate it with sex. I think if we're honest, were all kids as well as nudists at heart!
